Bio

Josué J. Mora is a multi-woodwind instrumentalist and educator in the San Antonio area.

As a performer, Josué has performed in orchestras, wind ensembles, chamber ensembles, and musical theater productions in multiple woodwind instruments since 2011. Josué is currently an on-call reed player at the Public Theater of San Antonio.

As an educator, Josué is currently an Adjunct Instructor of Music at the University of the Incarnate Word (saxophone) and served Schreiner University (woodwinds) from 2020-2023. Josue also teaches woodwind masterclasses and lessons in multiple school districts around San Antonio, including NEISD, NISD, and Boerne ISD. In Spring 2021, Josué was an award recipient of the Luminaria Artist Foundation Professional Development Grant.

From 2017-2020, Josué had the pleasure of serving Doris Miller Middle School as an Assistant Band Director. His duties included teaching beginner woodwinds and trombones, co-teaching the sub-non-varsity band, and directing the non-varsity band.  Josué guided his ensembles towards Superior and Excellent ratings at the UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Contest. Josué is grateful for his time as a band director and fond of all the memories and experiences gathered.

Josué holds degrees from Indiana University and Texas State University. Principal professors include Otis Murphy (saxophone), Thomas Walsh (saxophone), Todd Oxford (saxophone), Howard Klug (clarinet), Stephen Girko (clarinet), William Ludwig (bassoon), and Daris Hale (bassoon).
